
Since UPN “Veteran” Jakarta was legalized as a State University in 2014, the campus has been aggressively making changes for the better. The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences as one of the faculties at UPNVJ is actively involved in supporting and adapting to various new regulations.
Then on March 14, 2019, the Chancellor of UPN “Veteran” Jakarta inaugurated the new Dean of FISIP UPNVJ for the 2019-2023 period, namely Dr. R. Dudy Heryadi, M.Si. In his speech, Dudy said that Dudy would listen more often. “The first step I will take is to listen to all the hopes and good wishes of the leadership, lecturers, education staff, and most importantly students,” he said.
In addition, Dudy also has a vision during his leadership, namely: “Responding to Change and Realizing State Defense”. So that there are several targets that Dudy wants to achieve in the near future, one of which is to increase the accreditation of the Political Science Study Program, FISIP UPN “Veteran” Jakarta. “Of course I will give concentration to this matter because accreditation is the initial capital for a study program to show its achievements in front of the community, so it must be given special attention in order to get the expected results,” explained Dudy.
In 2025, it will become a faculty that produces graduates who are innovative, competitive and have the identity of defending the state in the fields of social and political science.
Carrying out learning activities in the field of communication science and international relations which refer to the Indonesian national qualifications framework (KKNI).
Carrying out research, publication and community service activities oriented to state defense by utilizing information and communication technology.
Implement transparent and accountable faculty governance.
Implementing an active, creative and constructive organizational culture and quality culture.
- The implementation of the tridharma of higher education at the faculty level with the identity of defending the state refers to the national standards of higher education.
- Producing graduates in the field of communication and international relations who are innovative and competitive at the national, regional and international levels.
- Optimizing the use of infrastructure and budget in accordance with applicable regulations.
- Optimizing the human resources of teachers and education in improving quality performance and productivity.
- Establish a medium and long term strategic plan and operational plan at the faculty level which is formulated through an effective, transparent and accountable management system.
Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Jakarta Veteran National Development University, whose establishment process has been initiated since November 11, 1994 through the Decree of the Minister of Defense and Security of the Republic of Indonesia No:Kep 10 / XI / 1994.
Three years later, a decision was made by the Director General of DIKTI, Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia. number: 449 / Dikti / Kep / 1997 dated December 8, 1997 concerning Granting of Registered Status to the Commercial Administration and Communication Studies Program at UPN Veteran Jakarta.
In the development process, after the 2 study programs were running, two years later, the International Relations study program was opened, whose existence was based on the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education Number: 437 / DIKTI / Kep / 1999 dated 29 October 1999, regarding the granting of registered status to the International Relations Study Program for level of education in the S.1 program at the Veterans National Development University, Jakarta.
The Communication Studies Program opens 3 (three) concentrations, namely: Public Relations / Public Relations Concentration, Journalism Concentration and Advertising Concentration.
Meanwhile, the International Relations Study Program opens 2 (two) concentrations, namely: International Political Economy Concentration, and Strategic Studies Concentration – International Security.
The journey of the Communication Science Study Program continues to be marked by the inauguration of the Decree of the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education through Decree Number: 012 / BAN-PT / Ak-IV / VI / 2000 dated June 23, 2000 concerning the Results and Ranking of Study Program Accreditation for Undergraduate Programs in Higher Education with value B; and in the following five years the Communication Science Study Program ensures the achievement of accreditation through the Decree of the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education Number: 0739 / Ak-IX-S1-012 / UPGILM / VII / 2005 dated 21 July 2005 concerning the Results and Ranking of Study Program Accreditation for Undergraduate Programs at Higher education with an A grade and at the end of 2010 the Communication Science Program was placed on a B grade.
FISIP UPN Veteran Jakarta is not only a higher education institution but has an identity as an active monument to the value of the struggle of veterans of the freedom fighters of the Republic of Indonesia who have strong motivation in realizing the ideals of the Indonesian nation as contained in the 1945 Constitution. Academics are expected to be able to practice it. the values, spirit and spirit of struggle in 1945 which are inflated with the credo of “Widya Mwat Yasa” and uphold academic freedom which is carried out responsibly while still upholding the honor of the nation and the State as well as the dignity and good name of scientists.
The crystallization process of the above values of struggle is combined with: the desire to produce graduates who are professional, creative, innovative, and able to compete in getting and creating jobs by founders, scientists, and other stakeholders; vision, mission, objectives of the institution, then the vision, mission, objectives and objectives of the study program can be formulated.
